Originally from Fresno, I feel so lucky to be able to now call beautiful Laguna Beach my home. While attending college at University of Redlands, I volunteered at a home for foster children awaiting placement. I decided then that as soon as I got a job I would become a foster parent. A position in Laguna Beach teaching special education gave me the opportunity at age 23 to become a mom to Lori (8) and Sharon(11). A year later I had my son, Corey, and by the following year I was a single parent of three children. Was I ever grateful for my teaching job in Laguna! Now, for 18 years I have been married to my marvelous husband, Jim. Our sweet niece, Vivian, and our great niece, Sophie 2 and 1/2, also live with us. Retirement has given me time to read about what is going on in the U.S. as well as the world in the field of education as well as attend educational conferences.
I had the privilege of teaching in our school district for 35 years and I am dedicated to serving and improving our community which has given so much to me and my family.

There are only two ways to live your life. One is as though nothing is a miracle. The other is as though everything is a miracle. -Einstein
